High-quality, external capacitor compatible with your Piaggio Ciao, Si, Bravo, Super-Bravo, and Boxer moped, as well as other models equipped with a Piaggio engine featuring a breaker-type ignition system.
This film capacitor resolves several issues that can occur with breaker-point ignition systems. Unlike standard capacitors, this version is resistant to moisture, corrosion, vibrations, and voltage surges.
Thanks to its external mounting, this capacitor can be replaced with minimal effort, without having to remove or open the engine.
Installation Instructions:
- Disconnect the internal wire from the old capacitor and remove it. (The breaker remains in place.)
- Leave the old capacitor installed; it serves as a felt holder.
- Connect the foil capacitor to a ground point using the ring terminal (e.g., the frame)
. - Plug the capacitor’s second terminal into the ignition coil contact where the thin ignition wire is normally connected.
- Secure the block capacitor in a suitable location.
- Now connect the thin ignition wire to the Y-connector on the ignition coil.
- Now enjoy a maintenance-free ride, regardless of your setup.
Note: The terminals on the capacitor must not be bent.
